The property offers four- and six-bedroom apartments, giving students a fully furnished shared home with private bedrooms, communal living spaces and a strong range of recreational facilities. For students searching for student accommodation in Australia that keeps university life close at hand while still providing a social residential environment, Orion offers a practical balance of location, comfort and community. The apartments are predominantly non-ensuite, meaning each student has a private bedroom while bathrooms are shared with flatmates. Kitchens are fully equipped with a refrigerator, cooktop, electric oven and microwave, while living areas include dining tables and chairs alongside lounge seating for relaxing after lectures. Bedrooms are furnished with a single bed frame and mattress, ceiling fan, study desk and chair, giving residents a dedicated place to sleep, study and unwind. Students can choose between four-bedroom and six-bedroom apartments depending on the type of household they prefer. A four-bedroom apartment provides a smaller shared environment that may suit students looking for a quieter home, while a six-bedroom apartment creates a larger social circle and more opportunities to meet fellow residents. In either layout, students retain their own private bedroom while sharing the kitchen, lounge and bathroom facilities, providing a cost-conscious alternative to renting an entire apartment independently. The location is one of Orion's biggest advantages, with Southern Cross University's Lismore campus spread across approximately 75 hectares of subtropical grounds featuring landscaped gardens, sporting fields and rainforest walkways. Students living nearby can make use of campus facilities including an indoor pool and gym, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, food outlets, banking services and the Learning Centre and Library. Being within walking distance of campus also means residents can return home between classes, head back for lunch or quickly reach sports and recreational facilities without relying heavily on daily transport. Beyond the university, Lismore town centre is approximately five minutes away and provides shops, cafes, restaurants and everyday services. Woolworths Lismore Square and SPAR offer convenient grocery options, while Wyrallah Road Shopping Centre provides additional choices for larger shopping trips. Students can also find a selection of nearby dining options, including The Quick Brown Fox, Seong Bo Asian Cuisine and Asian Feast, while local banking facilities and an ATM help with everyday errands. At UniLodge SCU Lismore – Orion, the facilities are designed to support both academic work and downtime. Residents have access to a gym and swimming pool, while shared lounges and communal kitchen areas provide spaces to relax, cook and socialise with flatmates. Laundry facilities and bike storage add practical convenience, while Wi-Fi throughout the property helps students stay connected for online classes, assignments, entertainment and calls home. The residence also provides opportunities for students to become involved in social events, mentoring programmes and internship opportunities, creating additional ways to meet people and develop connections outside the classroom. Security is another important part of the accommodation experience, with 24-hour security helping residents feel more comfortable in their home environment. The hillside position above the university also gives the property a slightly removed feel from the busier areas of town while maintaining easy access to campus. This combination can appeal to students who want to be close enough to walk to lectures but still appreciate a residential setting where they can relax after a busy day. Life beyond the property is equally suited to students who enjoy nature, creativity and a community-focused lifestyle. Lismore and the wider Northern Rivers region are known for their arts and music culture, while the surrounding countryside provides opportunities for hiking, rainforest walks and waterfall trips.
